Engineering Roles

This individual role will participate with a team in all aspects from project conceptual and final designs providing support during construction. The job responsibilities for the position will include:

  • Serving as civil engineer on a variety of project types from residential to commercial/municipal including large to small size.
  • Ability to communicate to clients and present technical solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate scope, schedule and budget with other team members.
  • Using AutoCAD for site/civil land designs including grading, 3D surface layouts, utility systems, stormwater and sanitary analysis (SSA), and dredging project.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to support staff. Development of technical proposals.
  • Reviewing permitting agency/engineering standards and regulations necessary to develop civil designs and permitting applications.
  • Participating in site field investigations and construction related activities.

Field Inspector Roles

The candidate will be responsible for collecting field data, documenting structural conditions, taking measurements, preparing inspection reports, and assisting engineering staff with marine infrastructure assessments and construction observation.

  • Conduct field inspections of marine and waterfront structures including seawalls, docks, piers, boat lifts, retaining walls, and boardwalks.
  • Take accurate field measurements and verify dimensions of existing structures.
  • Document structural conditions through photographs, notes, sketches, and field reports.
  • Identify and record signs of deterioration, settlement, corrosion, cracking, movement, scour, erosion, and other structural deficiencies.
  • Assist with condition assessments and inspection reports for engineering review.
  • Perform construction observation and verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.
  • Utilize measuring equipment including laser levels, tape measures, GPS equipment, and survey instruments.
  • Coordinate with property owners, contractors, municipalities, and project stakeholders during site visits.
  • Organize field data and maintain project documentation.
  • Assist engineering staff with preparation of technical reports, repair recommendations, and permit applications.
  • Travel throughout Florida for project-related inspections and site visits.
